In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. (Ephesians 4:26-27 NIV)

By: Scott Schuler

I get raddled sometimes. Anger can surge up inside of me when I feel as though I’ve been wronged.

Do you struggle with anger?

Does your anger try to consume you?

One thing that helps me with anger is realizing I rarely know what other people are dealing with. Their response to me in the heat of the moment triggering my anger could very well be something that has challenged them for years. So likely I’m not the target of their response, simply the recipient.

God has taught me to respond differently as He has convicted me of my anger.

When I view a person gracefully and lovingly when hit by their attack the outcome changes. Instead of getting angry I pray for them. Its amazing the results. My eyes are lifted off of being wronged to responding in empathy.

So, what can you do when you get angry? Pray for the person who hurt you.

Scott, this is so true! I’ve learned that is always the case from angry drivers to friends who say hurtful things!

    Luv y’all!

This answer has taken me some time to find out for myself. Anger never gives me a result I want. Anger never makes me feel better. Anger is truly a ploy of the devil to get myself into a situation I should have avoided. This is true for any reason anger occurs. I count to three and take a deep breath and let my anger go.
Thank you, Scott, for bringing this to our attention!

Thanks, Scott for your words of wisdom on anger. We never know what the other person is going through. We all face some sort of issues each and every day in this world today. So, we must be patient and with each other.
