Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV)

Have you ever committed to a New Year’s resolution to find it covered in dust before the end of January?

Maybe you were so bent on making a change in life because of how you fell about yourself, or how others treat you.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone tell me they committed to a New Year’s resolution and fulfilled this by December 31.

Maybe, instead of a New Year’s resolution, we should spend 2023 seeking the answers to these questions:

  • Why am I here?
  • Why is the world this way?
  • What can I do about it?

A good place to find these answers is in the Bible. Start by reading the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Give it a try and let me know how it is goes.

Hello Pat, hope you are doing awesome. Thanks for the feedback. When you have some time I’d like to talk with you about the new study guide we are launching for our book, “Why Can’t I Get This Jesus Thing Right?” Perhaps this is a study you will find useful in your Sunday school?
